Christina Jeon Hopkins
began accompanying school singing assemblies when she was eight years old.
Winning many competitions in her native Korea, she attended and graduated with
honors as a piano major from Chung Nam National University where she was on full
scholarship. By that time she was also teaching to fifteen private students,
playing recitals, and performing with the civic orchestra before the age of
twenty-two.
She has studied organ with Julian Romero and serves as
regular organist for Thirty-first Christian Science Church in Pacific Palisades.
She has accompanied ballet classes at Santa Monica College and Westside Academy of
Ballet, and is a candidate for a master's degree.
Recently she gave a recital of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" while an
artist-in-residence at The Montana Artists' Refuge in Basin, Montana.
Married and in America since 1993, she has
instructed for the STAR program, the Callas network, Noteworthy Education, LA
Parks and Recreation and teaches over 20 private students at the
Hopkins Home Studio,
