And there are lots of morning programs, and programs that go on and on. Each of our one-week camps has a little show at the end for family and friends to enjoy." With that statement composer/director Glenn Hopkins announced that he and his concert-pianist wife, Christina Jhun Hopkins will be inviting children to join with their own five-year-old daughter, Choice, for two one-week sessions of learning, play and performance. "The most important thing is that the children are cheerful. They can learn and have fun too." Both at the end of July, and at the end of August, the week of singing, dancing, scripting, set-making will conclude with a Friday evening potluck and performance for family and guests. The Hopkins' Home Studio at 2508 Stoner Ave., West Los Angeles CA 90064 features a grand piano, a baby grand piano, and three multivoiced spinets. ACTIVITIES CONTEMPLATED include instruction in piano, recorder, singing, harmony, rhythm, song-writing (words and music), story-telling, acting, theatre games, video, set design, play-wrighting, blocking, dance, puppetry, program design, at least one trip to the beach, exposure to other instruments, daily show and tell and sharing circle, finding an opening and closing song....and going with ideas the kids come up with. Older kids will take a leadership role and receive a letter of recommendation. ALL STUDENTS not already studying at Hopkins' Home Studio must arrange for an interview.
